New Zealand-based singer and blues guitarist Paul Ubana Jones was born in London to a Yorkshire mother and a Nigerian father. He was playing guitar by the age of 11. In his international career Paul has shared the stage with various artists, including Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, Tuck and Patti, and Crowded House.

Settling in New Zealand after a stellar overseas career, Paul has received 3 New Zealand Music Awards and released 9 albums. He comes to Upsurge for two live concerts where he will play his eclectic mix of soulful originals and amazing covers displaying his rich voice and phenomenal guitar technique.
